The Woeful 108

Well seems my decision not to pick up the Wii-U was correct as two of the three games I was interested in have been pushed back to “later in the year”. Pity, the Wonderful 101 looked great. Anyhow, onwards to the main point of this. I have a lot of computer games. Which isnt a problem. The problem is that I havent actually completed (or in many cases played) the majority of them. Yet I still go out and buy new games. So I decided that a change was needed. That change is The 108.

So what is the 108? Well the 108 (108 chosesn because of its association with the 108 earthly desires) is a list of 108 videogames culled from my current backlog and I must complete or play and discard these games before I can buy any new games. I should stress that my goal for the year isnt to play all 108 games, this is a restriction, not a challenge. It works out to nine games a month, no way I’m going to get through that many anyway (especially given the length of some of the games on the list). To get a bit more specific, I have to either beat a game or play it for three hours and decide it isnt for me before I can cross it off the list. In the case of games with no real end condition e.g. grand strategy games. Then its counted as being complete once I finish a full scenario/campaign. Once nine games have been completed a new game can be added. I’ve also included any games pre-ordered before the start of 2013. Though I left out Kickstarter rewards as their release dates are so given to change. Unfortunately this means I’ll need to use one of my “Reward Slots” to add them in.

As they say, a pictures worth a thousand words – or in this case 108 games. So here’s the list done up all pretty like (this image is rather large, if the full size one doesnt open when you click on it try opening the image in a seperate tab):
