Now is the gaming quarter of my discontent! I outlined my plan to deal with my backlog here<\/a> and then I updated it here<\/a> and here<\/a>. So how did quarter 3 go?<\/p>\n

As the first line above may have suggested it went fucking terribly. I got back into MMO’s with TERA which just ate my time. When I managed to wrestle free of that I feel headfirst back down the MMO wormhole with Final Fantasy XIV (at least I got it free so I didnt contravene my “No buying new games” goal). Now this “quarter” is slightly short because the last was overly long. But in August and September I finished exactly 0 games. Well, actually, thats not quite true, Final Fantasy XIV has a story which I finished and hit max level. So I’m going to count it as finished. So one game down (and my backlog untouched). While I only finished one game I also bought no new games so on that front its not too bad. But even though I’m now unemployed it seems unlikely I’m even going to really scratch my backlog over the next few months. Oh well.<\/p>\n

Oh wait I did buy new games, I totally forgot about Dragon’s Crown and Tales of Xilla. So that’s three in and one out. Balls. Next quarter probably’s going to be even worse as I’m eyeing the following games:<\/p>\n

I’ll only be getting one of the Pokemon games if I get them (it’ll be X, all about that blue and black Charizard). I probably won’t get Beyond Two Souls or X Rebirth and Watch Dogs is grandfathered in. That’s still six games which arent on the list bursting through the velvet rope of my wallet. We’ll see, maybe I’ll be strong and hold out (might try and leave any PC game purchases to the Steam winter sale).<\/p>\n
